Blogger Girls BOM Month 3

Hi Everyone,

Since today is the first of the month, that means it is Blogger Girls Day!  I am seeing some great blocks out there, but I can easily see why--this is such a fun project.

This year Monique asked those of us participating to supply a block pattern and she concentrated on designing the setting.  Last month was my block, but this month features Sherri's choice!  You can find all the details here.

I have to admit that while doing my blocks for the first two months, I haven't been as creative with manipulating my fabric into unique looks--I have pretty much been following the two versions provided.  Last month I saw a fun alternative, so I decided this time to make one block by using one of the directions, and then trying my own thing with the other.  It was fun!

This is my first version, made with one of the patterns supplied this month.

And this is the second version.  I'm calling it the "target" block.

  1. Love the blocks JoAnne. Amazing how different they can be even using the same pattern.

  3. Hi JoAnne, I am delighted to met you and to make a new quilting friend. I love your quilt and have been thinking about making a Red, White & Blue one for the front porch glider (back porch right now). We have lived in our home for over thirty years and have just made a offer on a 1905 bungalow with a nice front porch. Now we are just praying and waiting on the Lord to see if we get it. I am your newest follower and I would love it if you would follow me back. I'm retired and filling my days with enjoyment of life:)
    Have a wonderful week.
Your new blogging sister, Connie :)
