Our quilt show was such a success. It looked beautiful and was well-attended. More than that--it was fun! Even though there was a whole lot of work involved, it was so worth it! I've got quite a few photos to share, so I will do so today and tomorrow! First up, just some overview snapshots. Not only did we hang the quilts, but we also brought in all the neat, small items we could to set on the floor to keep people from tripping on the legs of the racks. The resulting "decorating" of the show was extremely effective! We received many, many positive comments on how it looked.

I brought these fun pumpkins with the tall stems but someone else brought the stands. They worked so well together!

JoAnne had some of the best quilts in the show! The picture taken of us is in front of one of my favorites. The dresden plate blocks had such pretty centers! I loved meeting JoAnne and seeing her beautiful quilts. I will be posting some pictures on my blog too of the beautiful quilts in the show. Very well done, JoAnne. It was worth all the effort.
ReplyDeleteYou all did do a great job with accessorizing the quilts and hiding the feet of the stands! Beautiful... a lot of work but, as you said, very well worth it. Your ladder looks great and I like those long-stemmed pumpkins!

I love how the little displays pull the eye into the display area. Well done! Your guild went well beyond on this show. Kudos to everyone who helped with the set-up.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a wonderful show! I wish I could have gone. I missed out on going to a couple quilt shows here. I planned on attending the last big quilt show of the season here so I could get my quilt "fix". Sadly, it was going to be held near the flood area here in Colorado and FEMA took over the buildings for their base camp so the show was cancelled.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed having the chance to see the show through your blog. Especially happy to see your Dresden Doilies up there. I have finally worked out my fabrics and will work away on it through the winter. With your quilt and Thelma's for inspiration, I finally was able to see how I wanted to do my own. Thanks for that.
