A Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone,

Oh my!  I didn't realize I was teasing you yesterday by mentioning my Schnibble and not sharing any pictures.   Sorry!  I did finish cleaning by lunchtime and got to spend some time in my quilting room, but I had something else to do before I could get to quilting my version of Lincoln.  I'm still not prepared to share pictures yet, though.  However, to make you all happy, I will share photos of another project that I recently began.

Back in 2011, I got this issue of McCall's Quilting (September/October) and ever since, this quilt has been on my list.

I fell hard for this project, but was stymied by fabric choices.  Yes, I could just use a bunch of my creams/lights, but I wanted a bit more interest in the fabrics for the blades.

I finally decided French General would be the perfect thing!  I've loved those fabrics but have never made an exclusive FG project.  The mostly red and light color scheme would work perfectly for this quilt, too.

I'm using the dresden ruler that was recommended in the article.
But, the funny thing is that the quilt in the magazine has 18 blades/block but mine have 20!  Perhaps that designer didn't use the ruler?

Making these blocks is really fun!  I can't wait to get some of them completely done with the centers and everything appliqued.

Have a great day!
JoAnne
